Jane Blasio

It’s a story that many in Northeast Ohio are already familiar with. In 1997, Jane Blasio, an Akron woman adopted as a baby, was searching for her birth mother when the investigation led her to McCaysville, Georgia. In that small southern town, she discovered the disturbing truth: she, along with 200 others, were taken from their mothers at birth and sold illegally on the black market out the back door of a clinic run by Dr. Thomas J. Hicks in the 1950s and ’60s.
